Promotions Assistant - 15 Hours Per Week - Potential To Advance To Full Time/Salaried

Are you looking to work in radio, marketing, promotions, live events, or public relations? Lets work together! We are looking for cheerful, determined members of the Upper Cumberland community to join our Promotions Department part-time!

All events are on weekends or the occasional weeknight evening . You will also be able to come in during the week to help with Clerical work and Event Coordination, so it should be conducive to college courses and we can be flexible with the events you work.


Stonecom Cookeville Promotions Assistants will be our front-line connection to the community at a variety of public and private events, both for the station and for local businesses or causes. You will be part of a team that is absolutely crucial to the growth and development of our brand by interacting with our listeners, both current and new!

Our wonderful Promotion Team members are our go-team for executing interactive contests, giveaways, remote radio broadcasts, public appearances, and any other way we can give back to our community.


Other opportunities within marketing, advertising, event planning, and public relations may also exist as a part of this program. We are looking for professional, approachable, adaptable colleagues to represent our brands values as well as to do organizational and administrative work in our offices to make sure we are always ready for our next big event!


What We Offer:


  • $17-$18/hour
  • 15 Hours per week, minimum

Regular Duties Include:


  • Working weekend shifts and going to events / promotions
  • Driving a box truck
  • Set-up and tear-down of events (carrying promotional materials, tables, chairs, tents)
  • Working in office during the week
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed calendars of upcoming appearances, contests, concerts, and sampling opportunities for clients.
  • Calling and scheduling clients for upcoming events
  • Creating and printing weekend materials and registrations
  • Creating Rules for promotional contests
  • Scheduling and posting social media for promotional contests
  • Assisting the Director of Promotions and Events with Major Events / Promotions
  • Assisting the Director of Promotions and Events with Major Contests
  • Researching Upcoming Concerts
  • Execution of Major Events / Promotions
  • Assisting with HR / Job Fairs


What We Need:


  • Valid driver's license and exceptional driving record (required)
  • 6 month commitment to Stonecom (required)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and HTML
  • Expertise in understanding and following direction
  • Excellent vendor management skills
  • Be a boots on the ground, hard worker
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to time manage
  • Ability to handle stress and remain calm
  • Familiarity with Canva and Powerpoint.


Have a good speaking voice and an ability to communicate with community partners.

Be dedicated, energetic, and have a positive personality.


Work Weekends(note: most events will not take a full day so these schedules can vary from week to week)

Strong people, teamwork, organizational, and communication skills


Ability to lift 50 pounds (tents, tables, flags)
